TONY
     CACCIOTTI

Tony Cacciotti (Producer) began his career at the original Cafe La Mama Theater on Second Avenue in New York City. He studied acting with Frank Davidson and the H.B. Studios as well as dance with Luigi, Fedor Lensky, and Claude Thompson. He appeared Off Broadway in The Fantastics, The Comforter, Thirteenth Year, and Alice. On Broadway he was in the original casts of The Royal Hunt of the Sun and West Side Story. In film Tony appeared in The Longest Yard, Hero At Large, and The Statue. Among his television credits are Due South, Mannix, The Streets of San Francisco, and nearly 200 appearances on The Gong Show.

In the late 60's, Tony worked as a stunt coordinator in Europe prior to becoming fitness supervisor for both MGM and Paramount studios, where he worked with most of Hollywood's eminent film figures throughout the 1970's. Among his most memorable contributions was the creation of the exercise that gave movie audiences the thrill of seeing Richard Gere hanging upside down doing an impression of a bird in flight while lifting weights in American Gigolo. In addition to being a fitness expert, Tony is the author of The Cacciotti Method published by Random House, and is a successful restaurateur.

As an executive producer, since 1980 Tony has developed several television series and pilots for NBC, ABC, and CBS, including The Valerie Show, City, Double Decker Bus, Ronald McDonald House, and Farrell for the People.

With his wife Valerie Harper, Tony's extensive financial support for many distinguished humanitarian projects include the United Nations World Summit for Children and Love Is Feeding Everyone (in association with Dennis and Gerry Weaver). Because Tony and Valerie's dedication runs in the family, their daughter Cristina was honored by First Lady Barbara Bush with a special birthday reception at the historic Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. Their involvement in international charities has recently led Tony to one of his most cherished undertakings: to commission a play about the revered humanitarian Pearl S. Buck to be written for Valerie Harper.
