Screen rights to "Futz!", the play by Rochelle Owens at the Theater de Lys, have been acquired by Guvner productions, a new company headed by Ben Shapiro and Alan Stroh.  The playwright also has written the screenplay.

The drama, about an ill-fated farm boy in love with his pig, will mark the film directorial debut of Tom O'Horgan, who directed the play.  The price for the rights was not disclosed.
